Hi everybody!I've been learning a lot about this truck lately, and my current maintenance item is to fix the shifter. A spacer had worked its way out from between the shift arms in the column, which wreaked havoc up in the shift collar and flange (7228, 3911).So, I got new spacers...
Ok, truck is on daily driver duty (while the Rabbit's getting fixed and upgraded), bike rack is primed, sanded and coming together! It needs a couple shims on the bottom to keep it from sliding side to side in the bed, then needs a couple coats of paint. Bike rack for <$20 bishesss! The rack is...
smilieteaseGot more polishing done yesterday and then helped a friend move into a third story apartment. We had a couple helpers and could not get the couch up around a tight landing/doorway in the middle of the stairway. My friend ended up removing the light fixture (getting zapped in the...
Good news. The broken gas gauge was just a gas-logged float. Ordered a new one.Got the bike rack screwed together. Gotta add a couple shims to keep it from sliding from side to side in the bed, then sand and paint. It looks great in white against the red bed and white cab.
^^^ Funny, this spring I had to jump my friend's <10 year old Honda Accord, with my '81 VW. HeheThanks, you too! Sh*t's clean. Drawing cars sure beats working three times as long for the same money at a fast food place. ;)I haven't even touched my truck today. Gotta get that fuel gauge...
"You like your kids, love your dog and would get rid of dog and kids to keep your classic car."Like I always say, cars may be expensive to maintain but at least they don't whine when you leave them home alone for awhile. And for the most part, they don't poop where they're not supposed to.
This weather keeps screwing everyone over. My friend from Missouri texted me about the shitty weather they're having (thank God he's not in Joplin), and I'm thinking "wow, it's storming down there too??" And now you- I swear the entire continent is under a thunder cloud! :bs: Anywho, keep the...
Maybe this would help. I usually assume what's in the brochure was officially offered (with some exceptions).1961 Ford Trucks brochure from AUTOLIT on Ebay. You can kind of make out the color breakup as it rounds the rear corners. Interesting that they say the unibody was for "greater...
Wow, nice find! I've never seen a Merc. However I do see a few troubling looking holes in the bodywork... do you know how bad that is underneath? Not ripping on it- just curious.
My friend was showing me his "for sale" bicycle collection and when I saw this '58 Schwinn Hornet I just had to have it. A week later here we are! He restrung the wheels and did the bearings and whatnot. He tells me it's missing the headlight, rear rack and faux gas tank and has a couple...
Hey, guys. I don't know about you but I really enjoy vintage ads and have collected things from a '52 ish Oldsmobile fold-out poster to a 1973 Datsun 610 ad to a 1996 GM EV1 electric car brochure. Here's a 1961 Super Duty ad I recently scored at a local antique store.full sizeAnd some more...
Maybe you guys remember this failed thread. Well, I said screw it and used some old photos. From those and some other reference images (notably a 3rd gen F100 on BaT), I concocted some widened steelies, wrapped them in stretched rubber, mixed well and baked for 7 hours. This is what I want my...
Keep the OG brakes. They build character. :cooldude:Funny you mentioned the Datsuns as I just got a ride in my friend's small block S130 today! It was rainy so he opened a bag of Doriftos. :wasntme:
I was thinking of making a quick 3D computer model of my truck to experiment with stance and wheel options, but I can't find any blueprints to work from. Looking for something like this, with at least side and front.I usually use www.the-blueprints.com for all my blueprint needs, but they...
