Body lifts are HIDEOUS!!! My '73 F-100 4x4 had a nasty 2" body lift on it when I bought it. There was actually no reason what-so-ever for the DPO to even bother because he had 33's. The 4x4's clear 33" tires with no lift. Depending on how high you want to go you could get the appropriate...
I ended up ordering one of the all-metal radiators from O'Reilly. It has a lifetime warranty and figured it would be easier to return if needed since I wouldn't' have to worry about shipping it.
Well, the clutch fork was broken and to re-attach it to the bell housing I had to pull the tranny. I just thought it would be wise to go ahead and replace what the things I had access to as not to have to pull the tranny a second time.
Well, I ended up having to replace the clutch fork, pivot arm, and the whole clutch kit. This seems never-ending! I also had to order a new radiator and fan shroud. I need a second job now
My radiator is leaking in a few different places. I can see signs of previous repairs so I think I'll just replace it. It never had a fan shroud since I've owned it. I've been looking at the NPD and LMC catalogs but all the radiator/shroud numbers are a mystery to me. Can anyone help with what I...
I can add the clutch fork pivot to the list. We got the new clutch and brake pedal assembly installed this evening and the clutch wouldn't adjust properly. We found the two bolts that go though the clutch fork pivot were sheared off.
It's getting close to drivable now. I still need to install the clutch pedal and rod and after that it should be safe to take on the road. The manual steering box is on it's last leg but it'll get me down the road. I have a power steering setup off a '79 F-150 I'm going to try to install...
EVERYTHING so far it seems has had to be replaced. I mean NOTHING worked on this truck. The aggravating thing is that if the DPO had done regular maintenance and fixed things as they broke, I wouldn't have to fix all of it!So far here's what I have replaced or repaired:* brake shoes, all...
My truck did not have a fan shroud when I bought it. Which one do I need? The LMC catalog has several listed and you need to know the OE Stamping Number to order. I don't care if I get it from LMC or not, I just want to make sure I get the right one.'73 F-100, 4x4, 360, 4-speed, no A/C...
I think he mentioned in the auction listing that the A/C was added. It would make sense that when the A/C was added the cab was possibly replaced for an A/C model to avoid cutting holes and such. Seems like whatever the case it would be just as simple to let people know what's going on, the...
I just found this one on eBay. The auction says '78 F-150 4x4 but the VIN says '78 F-250 4x2 w/460.I asked the seller what the deal was and he replied the following:"yeah, I dont know. I've had that asked before. That's the vin on the vehicle and the title."Here's the link.
I just got a '79 model factory AM/FM radio delivered today that I purchased off eBay. I will post dimensions tomorrow if no one beats me to it since I left it at my office.
I assumed it was supposed to be red, b/c my father-in-law has a '72 model truck he bought new (chevy) and his high beam indicator is red.At any rate, the light still doesn't shine through!
I'm replacing the bulbs in my gauge cluster and all looks well except light won't shine through the hi beam filter. Instead of having a red filter like the brake indicator has it seems to be completely opaque. If i shine a flashlight through the cluster, the brake indicator is red, turn...
