We are torn about R&Ring it or posting it up on CL..This has been a great truck, but due to the economy and the kids outgrowing the back seat, we are at the crossroad. '97 F150XL, 4wd, 5-speed manual. The 4.6 blew a head gasket, and has been sitting on a stand in the shop for the last 2 years.
How easy is the air flow supposed to be when blowing compressed air through the condenser? All other components flushed fine, but the condenser seems to be a little constricted, is this normal?Just replaced with a new compressor, orifice, accumulator, fan clutch and hoses (old orifice looked...
What do they come with (generally), sheet metal, gaskets, accesories??Also, what kind of warrenty does Ford give?I was quoted 2700~exchange and would have to be built & shipped from Okla.
Does anyone know if the speed sensor can do this although the cruise control still works?:headbang: I wish I had a diagnostic computer..This is on the '90 dually.

This thing has sat along time without any attention to the a/c system. I bought a retro kit to convert the R12 over to 134a which included the 134a compatable oil and the fittings for the schrader valves.
I evac'd the system, send the oil in, and charged it up. Long...
This is a friend of ours rig...Runs great all winter, but as soon as the outside temp reaches 90, it starts dying after 40 to 45 minutes of driving. It has been well serviced, so I wouldn't think the fuel pump is an issue. From past experiance, I'm leaning toward the fuel pump seezing up when...
Re: used truck search..Someone on another board said to stay away from the '03/'04 6.0's (but didn't elaborate why), and that the 6.0 will not last as long as the 7.3. (He stated they wear out just as fast as any gas engine. I am finding this hard to swallow.
Any truth to this?
What are my odds of finding a 4wd long bed crew cab with a stick? (early 2000 models). I've checked the local CL and everything seems to have an auto transmission. Also, recommendations on 5.4 vs 6.0 vs 7.3. Thanks for the .02..
This is on the driver's door on the dually. Acts like the gears are stripped, the window goes down but getting it back up again is a beotch.Regulator? Or motor? (What do they run nowadays), and has anyone done a manual conversion? Thanks in advance.
Just stumbled on this place looking for an answer on a 4.6 question. Just another Ford nut...(Currently have 3); '68 F-250 highboy, '90 crew cab dually, and a '97 F-150. I don't know how well Toyotas go here, but I mess around with the older FJ40's also, (you can flame on if you...
New here with an engine question. I have just pulled a 4.6 windsor out of a '97 F-150 (high miles, suspect blown head gasket). I have located a low mileage 4.6 from a '04. Are the blocks the same, I.E. use the '97 PCM and use my old intake an sensors? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
