Hope we find out. Our Explorer's has been intermittent for a long time. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Usually when you need it most, of course. I've chased down everything else so I'm now thinking it's the module. Lord only knows where it's located.
You guys are right about it not being used much. Mainly during the winter up here when there's a lot of slush/snow melt on the roads. Doesn't bug me much but the wife likes to see out the back. GEM Module? Not sure what that is. Does seem like it should last a lot longer though.
Thanks for the replies. I've put a idler pulley in place of the pump on my Mustang, works ok. Not sure which way to go on this. My tensioner is on top, but, I don't know if I'd trust the belt on such a long space if I went the short belt route. Gutting it may be the best idea in the long run...
I need ideas. I've replaced the rear wiper motor on my Wife's 1999 Explorer Limited three times in the last year. They never seem to work for more than 2-3 months. I have no idea why they stop working. Is there something I'm overlooking in the installation? They seem to go in very easy. No...
I believe my air injection pump on my 1997 F-250 with 460 EFI is going bad. It's making a lot of noise, especially when cold. Is it possible to bypass it with a short belt or is there an air pump eliminator idler like there is for the 5.0 Fox Mustangs?
