  1. broken timing belt

Thank you if I have it right when all the marks are lined up every thing will take care of itself. I must have thought about changing a distributor which can be 180 deg off
  2. gone to Canada

Hello, I put the 351 Windsor in my 1985 F150 short bed step side with a C6 and loved it but then could not keep it filled up and then gas got almost 4.oo per gallon and then 'what`s his name" got reelected and there is no hope in sight so I sold it to a couple from Canada and bought a ford...
  3. broken timing belt

Hello, I have a 1996 Ranger with a 2.3 engine with 8 spark plugs. The timing belt broke when it was idling so there should not be any valve damage. I have taken off every thing needed to repair it including the water pump which needed to be replaced any way but short of taking off the overhead...

  5. It runs like a scalded cat

I have an older B&M ratchet shifter that works good except for some reason it will not shift into park and it has no neutral safety switch and I had to rework the air cleaner as it would not clear the coil on the dist. cap
  6. It runs like a scalded cat

Never heard of it till now but I will check it out thanks
  7. It runs like a scalded cat

It is carbed and while it was on the engine stand I completely removed all the smog stuff, plugged all the vacuam ports and put a pvc in both valve covers and it runs really well but I cannot put the kickdown linkage on the carb because the motor is too close to the firewall and I do not know...
  8. Door cards Dennis Carpenter

made in chinaall of the small yellow heathen need love too, I had a bad experience with DC years ago, maybe I need to get over it.
  9. Door cards Dennis Carpenter

I have bought a lot of stuff over the years from LMC (Long motor co.) and like them better than Dennis Carpenter. They have an online catalog
  10. It runs like a scalded cat

finally got the HEI today but almost never got the old distributor out slipped the new one in and it started the first time it turned over. I need to get a small air breather as the coil on top of the new dist. will not let it come down on the carb. it is a shame no one lives close as I have...
  11. hello Primetime

I bought a HEI distributor and a set of accel wires and it should be alright and I appreciate all the info you gave me but I think it may have been bad when I took it out of the 1987 and I took all the smog stuff off and I am sure that did not help, I have never seen so much wire and vacuam...
  12. at my wits end (short trip)

Nothing I do will make this dura spark work so I am going to go another way does any one use the "ready to run" coil and distributor kits. They should be a 1 or 2 wire hook up and I can get rid of what I cannot seem to make work. There are several on e-bay for about 125.00 and are probably a...
  13. need answer from Primetime

It is carbed and had the flat box on the fender well. I had thought about putting a hidden ( in line ) switch as a theft prevention
  14. need answer from Primetime

This engine and wiring came out of a 1987 F250 and I think they were different somehow
  15. need answer from Primetime

I have nearly gone blind from looking at the wiring diagrams and as far as I can tell the red wire is hot all the time and the white wire is hot in "run or start" so it must be ---- the red wire on the battery side of the relay and the white wire on the I terminal. I hope
