yeah, having this truck is gonna save me soooooo much work, plus I get all the extras that I wanted to get later like the toolbox/460/ac. Just having a good bed made it worth the whole trip (drove down to Wichita to get her). Now if I could just get my happy ***** motivated to get some more...
So plans have changed a little. Instead of keeping the 351m, fixing all the rust and not having a/c I am going to go all out by swapping a 460 A/C and the body from this:78 2wd Scab trailer special. 460 with auto trans, dual tanks, tool box in bed, lariat interior, minor rust compared to my...
I replaced the push in seal, but not the one that has to be pressed on the axle. Yes I'm hoping that the vent issue will solve any leaks, but I'm gonna plan on putting both new seals in again at a later date. I have other things to work on right now, and it won't be drivable for a while, so...
I moved some of my pictures around in photobucket, and now I can't go back into my posts to fix the links, is there a way to do it that I'm not seeing??Anyway, got the rear DONE. Took my new drums, gave them a thinner bath and recoated them with High temp ceramic paint. Should last a little...
Pretty good. Got the drums today, so the axle is ready to go back in. Just gotta get the frame done so I can put it in. Hoping it will be drivable in a few days. Still gotta get a coil of brake line/fuel filter and some new wiring for the lights/tank lined out. Gonna run 100% new brake...
Lets split the difference, you give me half your cold weather, I'll give you half our hot. 90's all week with 50%+ humidity. If you make it without sweating to death, the mosquitos will finish you off. :)
Rear brakes, DONE! Pick up my drums friday, and get this thing back under the truck.New axle seal on one side, 99% of brakes new (cleaned and repainted the ebrake arms), new ebrake cables, new brake lines, new drums. Now if only the rest of the truck matched. :P
a ratchet strap is what you use to hold loads in your truck/trailer. I just have a junk one, end only, that I used. I pushed the hook through the seal, hooked it on the lip and yanked. Worked great. :)
how about a cab? It's got a little rust, but the corners looked good and I think it's just the floor that is getting thin. Are reg cabs something people are looking for? If I get it, I can either part whats left, or piece it together into a whole truck and sell it that way. I don't really...
where are the other scab owners? I know some of them have done it, I've found pix of the trucks? Thanks for the help so far. Maybe I'll just have to wait and call around.Something you might know, if I'm going to swap my 9" rear for a dana 60, will I be using the same springs or would I...
