Anything 3600 RPM motor or generator suffers from 2X line frequency vibration phenonom, it only happens in 3600 RPM motors or generators, thus they typically don't last near as long as a 8 pole 1800 RPM generator or even better a 12 pole 900 RPM generator. Inverters like the Honda EU and the Yamaha and Boli genets sip fuel compared to any 3600 RPM brigs powered genset. Then there is all the clean power mumbo jumbo that Duncan eluded to.

Have yet to see the Transit out on the streets, but the new TCs are gaining traction. My father has a couple of them on the lot he works. Ford dropped by with a Transit the other day at the dealership.

Got a bit of bad news today..seems there is some glitch with the Sync/Nav package...I have read that Ford is dropping Microsoft, but nothing that I can confirm...but the delay could be a reason. Telling me Feb 15!!!!!.

I was a bit grumbly about it, really wanted things to happen Sept/Oct...I guess we will see how it plays out.

Sync/Nav?

Did you ask if they could get you one with an AM radio and an atlas on a more reasonable timeframe?

Yep, could have one without the factory spray in liner and the Sync in a couple of months...but given that I spend at least 2 hours per day in it and will have it for the next probably 10 years, I want it to have what I want. And that also gives you the premium sound system, which I want...I'm not interested in aftermarket.

It'll most likely have an Android-based OS for the HU.

From what I am reading Blackberry will be supplying it, qnx with Android running on it.

Fair enough... I was just curious how much was "custom build" delay, or cross-border delay versus equipment issues. (Personally, I'd wait that long to get one without nav...but I'd wait rather than settle, same as you are.)

I know I saw a few Transits on a dealer lot near Dad's a few weeks ago, though I didn't stop so I have no idea how they were equipped.

Sounds like equipment from the more I read tonight. The other part of it is the hands free on the phone, doesn't sound like a big deal, but I really don't like my clipon earpiece and that couple of hours driving can help make the day shorter with dealing with calls to and from work.
