Carnage Pictures

FINALLY, my "Buddy" has the old 2006 engine pulled out so we can see the rest of the carnage. Not quite as bad looking as I thought it was gonna be, but a hole in the block is a hole in the block and wallet. :) Plus, it ripped the connector right off the end of the wires for whatever sensor plugged in there! ROFLMAO

Doesn't really look that bad from the outside, some JB weld and some black paint you'll be 100% :rofl2: :prod:

I wanna see the inside and what's left of the crank, bearings and rods... :wavey:

It looks as if the damage is mostly to the bedplate, the block may still be salvageable.

That plug was the crankshaft position sensor, and that being damaged is why the truck shut down so promptly:rofl:

Number 1 connecting rod is an odd failure; usually it is one of the centers or rears (5 and 7 most prominently) that fail first.

I'm interested to see if it actually spun a bearing, or if the piston was severely melted and the rod came out of the piston at the wristpin (piston failure; which is what I'm guessing on).

Be sure and post some pictures of what the internals look like. If you can, ship me over the broken pieces for me to get a look at.

I'll definetly post more pics as we break it all down, but I don't know about shipping pieces, I already have an area cleared for my wall of shame to mount all my broken parts. :D

Yeah, that was an incredible animal!! I'm still trying to figure out how he went that fast without moving his legs!! I'm guessing that MrFixit filled him full of gas and lite his tail end! Only the famous MrFixit could blow that much up another's a$$!!

You're the only thing I have seen blowing ANYTHING around here... altho there are rumours about that admenstruator...

More pictures. Anyone notice what's missing in this one??

Ok, how about a close-up? :)

Did you notice the missing rod for #2 also? If it ran, I'd have a 6 cylinder. :D
Then I think you should have still pulled mid-14s when it went!

where is the #2 rod? did it come out the block or is it in the oil pan?
We haven't gotten the pan off yet, so we're not too sure. :) I hope to know more on Monday and to have some pictures from the underside.

Can one of the tech's get me a list of missing parts and an estimate? Here's a couple pics to try and figure things out from:
