Hmmm. I pretty much remember the 3.55's, and jumping straight to 4.10's in the 250's... but the six-banger manuals could have had a different option. Never kept track of 'em much.

re: pulling. Yep- this is more a matter of dirver skill and luck. those trucks are pretty evenly matched, although I'd vote for the Chevy in a stoplight race.

Let's not forget the tranny in that Chevy- that was another weak point. The 350's stronger than those specs would lead you to believe though.

Ok, since I'm the dumbest guy on FTF I'll take this one. :)

It's crummy of you to ask, just post the dangged thing already. :/

There.
That was easy. :)

Don't forget the gear ratio for 1st in the trans and tire diameter play into "effective" gear ratio. Weight, tire width, pattern, attachment points (whoever is hooked higher will have an advantage), low range ratio in the tcase ... even with all those factors in, it's really who ever gets traction.

What trans first gear ratio and tire size does a '94 f150 4x4 have from the factory?

The Chevy has a 3.09 first gear trans ratio and 265/75-16 tires.
