I had a71 351w built and the builder didnt put on the build sheet if its internally or externally balanced any engine gurus out there i believe this year make was a 28oz external balanceI need this info to start the tranny build

Ok the gentlemen im buying the vehicle from said it was the ford-o-matic in a 71 f100 so i havnt gotten to look into it more id just like to drop my motor in it and use the same tranny till i have enough for a proper upgrade

1971 f100 already has the tranny im trying to put the 351 motor in it

Would changing the bell with an adapter wor im trying to keep my cost down

Do you know which they were im trying to identify it online but cant find it as well do you know if the bellhousings can be swapped

Right now it bolted to a straight 6 not sure which size it is but i heard around that time ford had switched from 5 to 6 bolt on most engines

Does anyone know if a ford-o-matic 3 speed column mounted transmission will bolt to a 1971 351W

I checked it out and with the tranny specs and using 26" tires, and a 3.50 ratio its giving me just under 2000rpm at 70

I was thinking anywhere from 2500-3500 cruising rpm no more than 4500-5000 really getting on it i understand the ratios but i havnt really done drive train work so i dont know which will give me what im looking for but thank you for the help if you have anything to learn me please share
