Hey folks, I haven't been on here on a long while, but I am going to be buying a 2011 Ford F150 XLT with the 5.0 and I was looking at exhausts. I have been debating between the Magnaflow 15461 and the Stainless Works systems. Both would be dual side exit behind the passenger side rear tire both...
Found a couple but by the time I got all of ducks in a row to purchase they have sold.
So I kind of have given up out of disgust and figured I could always find one down the road.
I am going to build a motor for a future project instead.
Thanks for the bump, I had heard there may have been an issue with the plugs sticking in the 06s, but I was hoping to confirm.Yeah they are, the one I was leaning towards more was the 07, but I have now found an 08 that I like more, just needs a leveling kit and bigger tires to be perfect look...
Hi there I am still fairly new to the whole truck world and I have found two different F150s I am thinking about buying and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on them.
Both of them are 4x4 extended cabs and both have lift kits and larger tires. I was planning on getting a warranty...
I know they are, I have a turbo setup I have designed for the Crown Victorias/Grand Marquis's. Just don't have the time or money to build it.
I would rather supercharge as it is more streetable versus a 600+hp truck, I still want it to be useful and not a money pit.
Yeah, those are hard to find. At least I know what I can and can't do. But I don't what I will end up getting now. It is hard to find any trucks I like, but at least I know now for future reference. Thanks
Alright thanks, I will. I may even get a Chevrolet or Dodge but I would prefer a Ford of course but I have to go with not only what I can afford but what is put there in good to excellent shape. And I will most likely be buying from Bommarito if I get one as they treated my mom well today.
It is quite alright, when I was looking to supercharge my MGM I had come across an Allen Engineering one, but I found out after researching that they were all sold and had been used unfortunately.
Thanks I will keep looking.
Oh what about a Lightning kit? I don't know much about the 5.4s from...
The issue with that is Allen Engineering (maker of that) went out of business quite a few years ago.
But I did find a procharger one, but no roots/twin screw style ones that I would prefer.
Hi there I am looking at getting a 2003 F150 and was wondering if anyone knew of a supercharger kit that works for the 5.4 in this year truck? I haven't had much luck with searching and was hoping someone here knew of a kit that required little to know mods, all I would be willing to do is a...
Work, school, and trying to buy a truck take up lots of time. After Monday I should be an "official" FTF member with an actual truck.
I will one of the annoying needs help with a lot guys.
I know there is a craigslist thread already started but I was hoping there was someone that either knew of someone selling a nice truck or would part with one they had. I am in the St. Louis area and I am looking for a 1973-1979 Ford F100/F150/F250/F350 with a 300 straight 6, manual...
My mom's Eagle Talon wouldn't always start or wouldn't run for long and it was the ECM, but the coils clicked.
Did any wires come loose possibly? Or is there a possible issue with the power supply?
Thank you, a friend of mine told me about it so I figured I would join and as of late I thought I should participate a little for when I a truck and will need some help and whatnot.
A trustworthy locksmith is the best place to go. Or you could do what dustybumpers has said they have done.
Depends on all you are wanting to do.
But you could call up the locksmith and get a price quote and if the key is really worn get some copies of the fairly less used key made so you have...
I have heard of people using spacers in front to cause a leveling affect to occur. But other than that possibility that has no back up that I can find coils in front look like the only option that have proof that work well.
Get the 460, they are beasts of motors. And look at getting a manual trans as it will be much better for longevity of the motor and other parts.
But the choice depends on what you are planning on doing with the vehicle.
The 5.4 in my mom's truck runs a quart low if you use conventional oil, but if high mileage is used it only goes through 1 quart in a month or so depending on idle and miles driven.
My 4.6 goes through quite a bit but it comes with how you drive it and I had used some crummy oil unfortunately so...
Well depending on your plans you could go to crownvic.net and search for some builds and see what some say. I know if I had the time and the cash to back it up I would build a 5.3 stroker motor using the 5.0 modular block and DSS Racing stroker kit and making a custom twin turbo setup that I...
Hi there my name is Don and I live in the St. Louis area specifically Chesterfield. I currently own a Grand Marquis, but trying to sell it to buy a 4x4 truck.
I have joined to get to know the truck game and possibly help out others. I am going to become a mechanic and hopefully open my own...
That is something you have to think about if you were to sell it would you regret it? If so then don't, but like it was stated before don't let it rot by sitting at least drive it around the block a couple of times a month. But just throw an ad up and see if there are any bites if so just try...
