Welcome.I fabricated mine from a universal kit (option # 1) so I'm really not sure what is available from aftermarket suppliers (option # 2) but I am sure there are many, trans-dapt, classic haulers, try a Google / eBay search, I like the cross-member type better then the frame biscuits...

    Greetings from Toronto!

Welcome from “resume speed” British Columbia to the center of the known universe,……sorry about your football team! :rolling laugh:Rust, what’s a little rust, bring it on, helps with the patina / farm truck look. (anybody can paint a truck). :wasntme:A breathable cover would be OK, if your...

Of course, …….but it is only steel, ……… and nothing is going to be easy, ever! 1951 Canadian tailgates

Yes Ryan I think that is correct.But…..I wanted a script one and found one that was for a 50 and earlier, the only difference is where the chains hook, and as I was taking the chains off it didn’t matter.I have the original 1951 block one for sale. Two places for more info...

My door handles don’t droop …………and more!

I’m on the road,……….and done.My door handles don’t droop! ( not a project for the faint of heart) The door art (decals) where done locally by a sign shop very inexpensively, extremely happy with the results. Some think the f1 has a manure spreader grill, not any more.A little...

    1951 ford F1 rear axle

No, it’s not a crate motor; actually it is the exact opposite. I horse traded for the car that it came out of many years ago (drove it home) and upon further checking I saw that it had a rebuilders tag on it so I took a chance (crap shoot) .....I just changed the timing chain and installed the...

    1951 ford F1 rear axle

I don’t know yet, I’m just finishing it up, (3 years) I will have to get back to you in a month or so. In the 12 or so trips up and down the driveway, it seems to ride nice but I have to say that one should not do test drives over 40 mph on a gravel road without a drivers door installed...

I’m just a old thread highjacker so take this for what is worth (nothing) but maybe if you started a new thread with you questions rather then adding on to an old one you might get better response,………and then again you might not! :)

Thank you for the reply, appreciated.Hum, if you think the project is ambitious, you should see what I’m trying to do with the doors, fool that I am. Without letting the cat out of the bag (future post) someone said you can’t do power door locks on a f1, oh yeah, yes you can if you have a...

    drivetrain combos?

Hey Scott,F-1’s rule and come first ……..always! (said by someone that also has in the long term scheduling stage a 1953 Canadian Dodge WAGON that is actually really a Plymouth complete with Savoy fender badges and a dodge Rams Horn hood ornament, makes a Ford seem almost rational!)...

Sometimes it is the little subtle things that make the difference?

I hope that the pictures will show enough detail. In British Columbia we are required a front license plate, not that I used one on my last two cars, but on my patina (farm truck) rod project I decided to be legal for a change. This was the seconded attempt at recessing the plate mount in the...

    truck window regulators and channels

Classic Haulers (a division of Mid Fifty F-100 Parts) is probably your best choice for quality at a fair price.Yep, spray undercoating or sound deadener if there is room or……… home made “lizard skin” (tm), …………brush on box liner mixed with fiberglass micro-spheres, stinks while drying, but...

I am “Sending out an S.O.S” re: Rad support.

Thanks all,Yes mtflat, you are big time right about lower rad hose or fenders! As you can see the 460 fills the hole and with the rad spaced forward and the A/C condenser things get a little tight quickly. I’m getting one bolt done per half day so some progress is happening. :headbang:
