I posted this on another forum and haven't received much of a response sooo...I want to wire up some reverse lights but have a few questions...On my last truck (97 f250hd) I had a backrack with a pair of halogen lights mounted to it. I had them wired up with a relay and a spdt switch in the...
Hi all,
I have a 97 F250HD 351w 5spd, and the front axle is the ttb Dana 50. It needs some work, (read ball joints, and new leaf springs) and I don't like the ttb setup anyway so I want to do a solid axle swap.I have a whole truck for a donor, with the same axle ratio. The donor is a 94 F350...
so i believe that i was just paranoid. when my tank got down to the E on the guage i flipped the switch and the guage went up past the full mark. it has steadily been going down too so i know that the guage is working.
well so far i havent switched to the front tank yet and the guage is now getting to the 1/4 mark. i am going to run this tank till it gets below the E mark. this is a two fold experiment, i want to see if the guage is working, and how far i can push it without sputtering out. at the rate i use...
well the other day when i put gas in it, i put 60 bucks in. i put 40 in the front tank wich was a little less than a 1/4 full and i put 20 in the rear tank that i was running on, it was reading just over 1/4 full. when i turned the truck on the guage had gone up past 3/4 full. which i didnt...
So i have a new to me 97 f250 HD. it has dual tanks, i have never owned a truck with dual tanks before so forgive me if this is a stupid question. the fuel guage doesnt seem to change when i am running on the less full rear tank. so its almost like the guage only shows the front tanks level. i...
here is my new 97 f250 Heavy Duty on the day i got it...and here is the interior...i have since removed the stupid ladder rack... and when i get a chance i will post more pics.
This is my new to me 97 F250 Heavy dutyThe interior is in pretty good shape. the drivers seat does have a rip but other than that its just a little dirty.
i never use sealer on rubber unless a damaged the gasket and need to drive to the parts house for new ones. i always use sealer on cork, it makes it possible to remove the cork gaskets without a scraper.
i use rubber gaskets and no sealer. what i found helps with the floppy rubber gaskets, is to stick the bolts through the valve cover and the gasket that way they hold everything in place, this usually works because the bolt is usually ever so slightly larger than the hole.
buck, do you have power assist steering? or did you upgrade to integral? if you have power assist, there is about a half inch of movement in the control valve as it does its job directing flow of the hydraulic fluid. but this movement should only be noticable with the truck off. at least thats...
to answer some questions, first off the part in question is called a power steering CONTROL VALVE not a gearbox.autozone has them listed for about $400 plus 85 for a core charge. there are other websites out there that rebuild them all about the same price, the most important thing to...
will it physically fit? Yes. 370's came in thos trucks, will it bolt up to your tranny? i dont know. if you can get the bell housing with the motor it should fit.
i have owned 7 of these trucks and parted out dozens more and have NEVER seen the fuel gauge on the right. thats a new one!thanks, i stole it from someone on the "other" website... he he he
i had this problem with a truck and it was because the carb was all gummed up and the butterflys were sticking open. it was idleing at 3-3500 rpm... thats how i figured it out, a healthy dose of carb cleaner fixed the problem for me.i never did figure out what your supposed to do when it wont...
thats a pretty sweet build, i like how he didnt stop at a modern motor/tranny, but kept going adding things like abs power windows and the modern dash!
same here, i have a homepage tab for the forum page, the only reason i saw the picture, is i told a friend about this site, and he asked me about the truck, i was clueless as well for a minute...
