This was a every thing it seemed like, and working 6 days a week and it being the only vehicle sucked.d16 y7, with a cold air, y8 intake, header, test pipe, and a glasspack.Car was a y8 car, still running the Vtec computer. Rev limiter comes in at 5800 where vtec should be. :headbang...
I'v had 18 or 19 vehicles since I was 14.I'v had a few rangers, few f-150's, couple broncos. The rest have been other misc. stuff (jeeps, hondas, ect.)Just recently totalled my '94 powerstroke (check around the forum... there's a thread about it somewhere.)Still got a '78 Bronco my dad...
No, I let the insurance take it... it worked to our advantage though. Got enough out of the insurance to buy me a car, and get the GF something (still looking for her one, though)
Yeah, It was my fualt... Running a little to fast on a wet road. Had been having an issue with the brakes (front lock.. almost no rears) but hadn't had time to look at it.That mixed with wet roads, speed, and a curve... I put it into the trees. Live and learn, but it definitely sucks. All that...
Got everything from dieselorings.com, fuel bowl rebuild kit and lines other than the fuel pump and metal banjo lines they are OEM from the dealership.Didn't replace the valve, but all the orings are new, and I took my time installing them.. now that doesn't mean the seated properly by any means.
Well, little update...clutch is fixed,
glowplugs have been replaced
new starter
fuel bowl rebuilt
new fuel filter
new fuel pump
new rubber lines
new banjo bolt linesand still have a small fuel leak i'm trying to track down, dunno if I messed up on the fuel bowl rebuild, or if it's leaking...
Had guages in sight.. but have dumped almost 2k into the truck just to keep it on the road.. just been running stock setting for now. ( when it is running)
Broke the, I don't know what to call it..... the pin on the pedal assembly that holds the master clutch rod to the pedal assembly. Leaving me with no clutch. Pair of vice grips, is holding it for now and got me home.... was a $$$$$ to drive to work though in traffic with no clutch.any ideas...
Bronco graveyard has it all... and I can't believe how fast it got here. Ordered sunday, called monday to tell me my credit card didnt go through, gave them a different one, and it showed up 2pm tuesday
These aren't gonna be fixed with a thread file. The nuts where cross-threaded. Junked the threads all the way back. plus they have big chips out of them that can't be filed down.. they are all messed up. For $120 a piece I feel better replacing them.
The inline 6 is hard to beat for relaibilty and tourqe. Plus they are usually pretty hard to destroyBut a v8 has more potential to be a hot rod, if that's what your after.
It was said to have 110k, miles on it.. but I'm starting to not believe it.And I looked over the truck WELL, as did my pappaw when he picked it up for me. All of these things couldn't be checked just looking the truck over. I checked everything that could.Atleast I'll know FOR SURE that...
This thing has been a nightmare, It started by trying to do an oil change and tire rotation at work... only to loose a stud in the rear brake drum.(didnt even get my rotate done, lugs were TIGHT) In a hurry, I put it all back together and drove it... figuring I'd get around to it in a day or so...
Guages are in the works, just not in the budget right now..I usually run stock or 40hp..and of course high idle to warm it up in the mornings any issues there? I already feel like I run the piss out of it, I run 80 miles + a day all highway, and turn 2500rpm at 65 mph.
