I bought a 1992 Ford F150 with a 302, and I think the timing is off so far that I can't even get it to turn over. Is this possible? If so, how can I fix it!

I purchased a 92 F150 with a 302 in it, when I drive it for more than say ten miles at normal highway speeds and than shut it off and try to restart it in less than five minutes it won't start. It seems to be turning over really hard and won't "spin" fast enough to start. If I wait say fifteen...
