Need some advice please. 1994 f250 4X4, 460 V8
Truck ran fine last night. Started up this a.m. and drove forward. Put it in reverse and it immediately started running rough and chugging. I nursed it a bit and the emgine smoothed out and ran fine again. But the Overdrive light was flashing=trans...
I have an intermittent no start problem on my 92 F250 4X4. 351W, 4EOD.Here's the story:
The starter turns over strong. When I use the truck daily, it usually starts right up. If it sits for a week, it might not. After I walk away for a time, then it will. Past weekend, I couldn't get it to...

So I'm not giving away any major voltage or current by hooking to the batt rather than the alt?
I'm OK with charging both as long as the aux doesn't drain the main - as I understand it, the solenoid switch prevents that.
"The + terminal with engine sunning will only be 7-9 Volts because of the resister in the wirings"Would a solenoid connected directly to alternator output yield significantly higher charge to aux battery than the solenoid connected to pos terminal of truck battery?I want the truck batt to...
I was planning on running a ground wire from aux batt and another from the solenoid directly to the frame. That way, the only truck wiring I'll be relying on is the switched ignition. Thanks for you help on this. I'll be looking for the wiring diagram, when you can get to it.

Hello,
I'm hooking up an ignition switched continuous duty solenoid in my '92 F250 LB, Reg. Cab, a/t, 4X4. This is to charge the aux battery in my slide-in camper while not discharging the truck battery.Where is the "easiest", under hood, tie-in to the ignition? (The "easiest" that will do the...
I stand corrected ... I am using a solenoid, not an isolator. Made that decision based on research here (as well as other). So a ground to the battery is better than to the vehicle chassis? Battery ground would be easier as well. Curious as to why the instructions with the solenoid specify...
Hello,
I'm installing a battery isolator in my '92 F250 LB, Reg. Cab, a/t, 4X4. This is for the aux battery in my slide-in camper.1) Where is the "easiest", under hood, tie-in to a 12V accessory source activated by the ignition system? (The "easiest" that will do the job safely and...
This has been bugging me for awhile and I can't figure a fix.The driver's side (interior, obviously) sun visor keeps dropping down - now even when I go over a small bump. The end is still on the clip; the visor is too loose on the rod that holds it.Any solutions out there? Thanks in advance.
I recently purchased a 1992 F150/XLT/4X4 to go with my 1992 F250/Custom/4X4. Love both trucks and especially the interior of the XLT cab. What I don't care for is the XLT exterior trim, mainly the plastic trim strips that run along the bottom of the doors and the the bed. It appears that they...
Jacking up front end and spinning the wheels didn't produce any noise, stiffness or other untoward results - other than one clank from the area of the diff.Further driveway test drive indicated noise (rattle/clank) with hubs and axle engaged and while under acceleration (any speed) forward...
Thanks for the reply Sk.If I recall, the sound gets louder on a turn - not sure. Would affirmative support the u-joint diagnosis? I can go out later for a test-drive.
Hello
I have a 92 F250 4x4 (351W) E4OD with about 140K miles. Hearing a new squeak when accelerating in 4-wheel drive mode. Not when coasting. Squeak seems to increase (faster) with speed. This a.m. I also got the sound after taking out of 4-wheel mode but leaving the hubs locked. Sound seems...
