Didn't think I was going to sell this but looking to see what anyone would offer. It has a 351w which currently needs rebuilt. Spun a bearing. 600 edelbrock t34 trans borg warner 1345 t-case dana 44 front end not sure on the rear end new front wheel bearings 6 inch lift on 37 12.5 16.5 clean...
Yeah I started poking around for a engine out of the junkyard to get it going for now and none of them have a windsor to put in it and that is what I want to stick with. I still have time until taxes come in so I have time to shop around. But at least now as of today I am not completely out on...
What can I get for it in as is condition? Not really sure barely what I paid for it probably. Any personal attachment?? I think I have more of a personal attachment to the fact that I have a pickup more than the brand that it is. I use my pickup regardless of make to obtain extra money on the...
Valve spring not broken. But I don't have to worry about collapsed lifters stuck valves or any of that anymore. That's right folks spun a bearing smoked the engine almost got left in the middle of the road, will be surprised to get it started enough to pull it in the shop when I get an engine if...
I looked at it, it does not look broken to me. Collapsed maybe but I am thinking unlikely in my opinion but possible. I either need to somehow make it work until I get my extra money next month or just leave it parked. That's why I was thinking about disabling that cylinder for now of course not...
No the valve spring is not broken. But I would not put it past my truck for that to happen though. I am kinda going with BuzzGun in thinking of the collapsed lifter because if the valve was stuck the pushrod would eventually bend due to the rocker not moving. The pushrods are not bent. Next...
Flareside the thing that surprises me with my truck is it was working perfect for quite some time until poof one day it started running like crap and I thought I had gotten some bad gas since it started a day or two after filling up one day. So I was troubleshooting that until I found this valve...
I wouldn't be surprised if it is a lifter collasped. Unfortunatly for me at this point I don't even have the funds to swap them even for as cheap as what they are. I think I am going to see how it acts when I remove the pushrods for the bad cylinder that way there is no more squealing and valve...
I already know what cylinder it is. I pulled the valve cover and found a loose rocker arm on the exhaust valve. With the valve cover off I had a friend watch the rocker arm movment will I bumped the starter and found that one exhaust valve not moving while all the others were moving. I did pull...
Yeah I checked out the website I would buy an engine from them but don't have that kind of money right now. Gotta wait until tax return. I just need to make it work better than it is until I get that money which won't until over a month from now. Any ideas on stuck valves without removing the...
Plan of attack was to just swap the heads for now with the exsiting block in the truck but I am worried about when I do that the increased pressure in the engine with rebuilt heads and new gaskets may cause problems somewhere else. Maybe?? That's why I was thinking whole engine. But either way I...
Looking to get a hold of a 351W rebuilder if anyone has one. I have some stuck valves on my 1985 and I think I would like to build a engine for it instead of just doing the heads. Any help would be appreciated.
Well changed the pump last night and BAM!!! got some wicked fuel pressure. Now I have to reset the timing and readjust the carb now that it has the proper fuel pressure it runs a little better too. I'll knock it out tonight and it should be tip top. Thanks all for the replies.
Apparently I spoke too soon because once again I had to push my truck off the road. I am about tired of doing this. Looks like it is my fuel pump this time. It runs but it does not want to pump up to the carburator all the time and I know there is fuel becuase the tank is full and if I remove...
You are definetly right about the frustrating part especially since this is my daily driver right now. Some days I do enjoy working on it and other days I wanna just beat it with a hammer. We will see if it will at least keep going until I get my income tax money in the begining of the new year...
Well after much kicking and screaming with this truck I finally figured it out after it left me on the side of the road a few times again. So I took out my rear tank and fuel tank selector valve from the fuel system both of which had rust in them and hooked up to just the front tank only. I then...
I am pretty sure it is just my rear tank looks like the original one. My front tank is so brand new it had not even seen gas until I put some in it after I aquired the truck. m78 I know the manual transmission trick with the starter unfortunately I have not bypassed the clutch saftey switch yet...
For something like the 6th time in the last two weeks I have had to push my truck off the road. Wish I could just get this fuel problem solved and over with. I think I have it pinpointed now to the rear tank and the tank selector valve being my issue but I don't even have time to fix it whick...
Need fuel tank selector valve for 85 F250. Need to see pics of what you have to see if it's the right one. Seen too many different styles of them already. Thanks all
Thanks all. I can be a nice Gen 7 when it does not leave me on the side of the road like it did today twice. But I think I have the fuel issue pinpointed to the exact problem. My tank selector valve is the original one and it is getting stuck and rusting out some too. Have a temp fix for now but...
Hello my name is Justin I am in the Air Force stationed in Wichita Kansas and have a 1985 F250 that I just acquired on a trade. Pics coming soon. It's a single cab with a 351 windsor, T34 trans, borg warner 1345 transfer case, 6 inch lift on 37" tires, 3.55 gears I think. I think it has the...
