  1. First post!

I used to have about the same truck. 1997 F350 standard cab white with 5spd. 4.10s and a PSD. Had a SCT tuner on it with a Banks 3" stainless downpipe and an AFE Stage 2 intake. Also had strait pipe with no cat.
  2. 7.3 oil leak

Friend of mine had a 97 F350 CC that blew the seals on both plugs on the back of the head. Eventually it drained out enough oil that the injectors quit firing. It was pretty sudden. From the time it started leaking to the time the injectors quit was probably less than 20 miles. Replaced both...
  3. rear axle noise

Is the old girl fixed up?
  4. Rear LSD advice for friend

Did you ever get anything figured out for your friend 6L?
  5. EGR replacement

still sounds like dealer rape to me.
  6. EGR replacement

A friend of mine has a 2005 F150 4.6L with about 80K on the clock and just had the EGR replaced to the tune of $425 for parts and labor plus $70 for the diagnostic scan. This was done at a dealership but I was wondering if this was a fair price for repairs. Any info appreciated.
  7. Lightning HP?

Using too large of a valve or runners on your heads and intake can take low end power away and move it higher but if you simply did a small port and polish on your stock heads or even an out of the box performance head like the GT-40 or even a Dart head would be a nice gain if you clean up the...
  8. Spark Plug question

I know everyone on here swears by the Motorcraft double platinum plugs but I was just wondering if anyone had tried or heard anything on the E3 Diamond fire spark plugs. Just seems to me that there has to be a better plug than the OEM units. What about iridium plugs?
  9. Rear LSD advice for friend

I've heard a lot of guys on the "other" site talking about how much they love their Tru-Trac lsd's. I have the level 2 ranger so mine came with a Torsen LSD and 31 spline axles from the factory.
  10. Info to increase performance

Keep a clean fuel filter in it as well.
  11. Post up some pics

  12. Post up some pics

Here is a picture of mine all shined up.
  13. Ford May Stop Ranger Production

Don't forget that the Ranger is also built in Edison New Jersey plant as well not that that will keep it in production but they are built in 2 plants.
  14. Braggin Rights

I was pulling down 22-23 mpg with my 97 F350 XLT 5 spd standard cab PSD with 4.10s. I had a 80hp SCT tune, 3" Banks downpipe and strait pipe exhaust. Pulled like a mule but not really that fast. I used to have a little ZX2 as well. Cute little car for the wife to drive and got good mpg but I...
  15. First post!

I used to drive a couple of the old IDI 7.3s and they are good trucks. My last one was a 1991 model F250 with 7.3L 5spd standard cab with 4x4 and 4.10s. Worst pull I ever made was from KC to Bethany MO up I 35 with a 34' gooseneck flatbed loaded with about 20,000lbs. The on-ramp to I670 is...
  16. Wierd idea, but strong. Is the Ranger the most hotroddable truck ford has?

Have you seen the one off that SVT made with all Lightning drivetrain called the Lightning Bolt? Bad little truck with the whole drivetrain pilfered from a full sized Lightning with the rear end narrowed to fit under the fenders and widened the rims a little but it was mean as could be.
  17. No more Ranger??

The Ranger is also assembled in New Jersey which I'm not sure of the fate of that plant at the moment. The death of the Ranger has been coming for a long time. Toyota has taken over the mid-size truck market which is what the Ranger is forced to compete in since it is the only true compact...
  18. Hello from a new member!

HOWDY guys and gals! I too have come from the dark side! Not that I have abandoned the dark side, but I had to come check this out. Just found out about it today and joined up. Good to see a few familiar faces around though.
