    Distibutor woes, Help

Ok I understand wanting to resolve the frozen distributor issue BUT have you checked the timing? Check for slop in the timing chain. Odds are unless someone messed with it timing is just fine if it was driven to the place of being parked. Everyone wants to set timing & there is usually no...

    Need an opinion

An auto type choke with a bad pull off can cause what you describe. Bad spring can also cause similar symptoms. I am assuming you do not have a manual choke or you would know that.

    1970 F100 SWB CV/TBird build

Well here are some pics of the hood as it stands. It still needs finish work done so this is raw form. I am planning on making the Fordification show in Anderson, MO so anyone there can get a much closer look. When the truck is finished it will have 3/16"-1/4" gaps on all panels.

    1970 F100 SWB CV/TBird build

All is well. We moved to southern MO to help care for my father & just now are getting back online. We entered the truck in a local show & got a 3rd. Not too bad considering everything they scored on were areas we have not touched yet.

    1970 F100 SWB CV/TBird build

Thanks. We have a '90 F150 & the thought has crossed my mind with it's hood as well but it is our truck not toy. If I ever do anything with it I will probably do the same thing again. I think Ford hoods are just asking for it.

The top of the hood is tacked on now. Won't be long & it will be back on the truck. The tacks across the original seam are temporary. They will be removed & the seam in place when it is all finished.

    vacuum advance

You will need to pull the cap & rotor plus tear down to the point you see the arm from the vac advance attached to the advance mechanism. There should be a small E-Clip holding that end on. Remove it & then remove the 2 screws holding the vac advance to the distributor. On a couple side notes...

    alternaor delima

That's all up to you & what you want from your truck. If you want original you know what way to go. If all original is not important I would definitely upgrade.

    1970 F100 SWB CV/TBird build

Going to let the hood overhang the cowl area. It won't be much & the way the hinges work it should not create a problem. I have not thought about what to do with the rear of the hood yet. The original area will be there just moved rearward. Have been thinking about building some sort of air box...

Well it's official the 3.55s are in along with Limited Slip & the Holley 4bbl (750 cfm, vac secondaries & elec choke). All I can say is I love it. I don't even have the carb totally dialed in. I will get my wife to take some video. The carb made a big difference. You could hear it in the exhaust...

    1970 F100 SWB CV/TBird build

Picked up the spyder gears from the machine shop yesterday. They were good to me. Said take them & we will worry about cost later. I had read so much about how difficult it was putting the S Clip back in but it was no big deal. Line it up & give it a good wrap with a decent size hammer & in it...

    1970 F100 SWB CV/TBird build

Well went shopping today for rear gears. I could not find and 3.55s I did find 3.27, 3.73 & 4.10. Some with Limited Slip & some open diff. I think I am going to go with the 4.10 Limited Slip. My problem then becomes locating spider gears. The carrier is in an Explorer which should be 31 spline...
