I have had a dead draw on my 85 F-350 7.5L for awhile now. I have not been able to locate it. Tried a test light and pulling the fuses, no help. Tried a multi meter, but I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly. The other electrical problem I am having is occasionally when I try to start it, it...
So the guy finally got his act together and got everything to finish the swap. Quick question though, the ignition module for the 302 was on the distributer, 351w was on the fender (which we don't have anymore). Since the distributer wouldn't swap from the 302 to the 351w (smaller shaft size)...
Yeah I know it's not a timing issue, it cranks just fine. I think I'll try a ignition module, i've got a dead draw some where maybe that could be the issue as well.
85 f350, It will start cold just fine, but after getting to temp it won't fire. It cranks fine just won't fire. Getting plenty of fuel, and i checked the coil by putting a spark plug on it. When cranked I didn't see any spark until the key was let go of, then i would see one tiny little spark...
So i finally got confirmation... it's out of a '78 f-250. In case anyone wants to know or didn't know... Dana stamped a number on the ring gear, and you can reference that number to find out what axle you have.
So I finally got time to get some numbers 449F, I believe this notes that it is a D44, and C38681 which I believe is a casting number. From what I've been reading these came in 78-79 F250's and maybe some Bronco's. Can anyone confirm this? I'd really like to get a new axle and get the 4X4...
I went from a 19 gallon rear to the 38. Still got a 19 front. Got the bigger tank from Rock Auto (rockauto.com) about $180 that includes shipping. Came with everything to modify the sending unit and to mount it.
Yeah I opted for the 38 gallon rear tank. That's why I've got the old one laying around. Of coarse now it'd cost me close to $200 to fill both tanks with fuel.
Larry thanks for the offer, but it looks like that's a TTB axle. I have a solid axle, and not sure if the shafts themselves will exchange. I'm in Lima, and from the looks of the map it would take about 2 hours to get to you. I really appreciate the offer, if I had more time on my hands I might...
Sorry man I'm trying to get the #'s but I work 2nd shift and haven't had a day off since thanksgiving. It's kinda hard to get out and dig around for them.
I know for a fact that it is a 44, I just don't know what it's out of, or what year it is. I would like to get a new axle to get me thru the winter and get a 60 after the first of the year. I'm just not sure what length axle to get, because i don't know what it came out of.
Everybody said it would happen, and it did. I broke my driver side axle. It's a Dana 44, but I have no idea what it's out of. So if anyones got any suggestions of how to tell, I would appreiciate it. Ultimately I would like to get a Dana 60, but they are hard to find around these parts.
This is my first time dealing with the gear timing set, and it's not my motor, thus not my choice. As far as the heads go they are stock as far as I know. I have the day off tomorrow and plan on pulling the 302. i will try to get some #'s for you guys. The 302 is an '84 I believe, and i know for...
Getting ready to swap out a 302 for a 351W in a '84 F-150. I think I have everything I need, but thought I'd see if there is anything I should be looking out for. 302 is EFI, 351W will be Carb'd. He wants to take the heads off the 302 and put on the 351W. I put a gear to gear timing set up in...
I like the long tubes, but with the winter aproaching, having the 4x4 hooked up and working was more important. I wouldn't be aginst a set of long tubes if they will stay out of the way of the drivetrain.
Had long tubes, but couldn't get the driver side to work with 4x4. Had to cut them up to make it work, thus i would like a set of shorties to make it work better.
Looking for a set of headers that will work with a 460 and 4x4. I figure shorties will fit the best, but I'm having a hard time finding them. It's in a '85 f-350. Any info would be a big help, and thanks.
I've got an '85 F-350 Crew Cab 2wd converted to a 4wd by PO. Just got done fixing all thier mistakes. 460 C-6 NP205. Dana 44 front Dana 60 rear. 4.10 gears, 35x12.5 BF's
Why guys on a Ford truck fanatics web site would not be happy with all the attention this truck is getting is beyond me. It's a FORD smilieFordlogo .
We all know Ford makes good quality products otherwise we wouldn't drive em. Would I own a Raptor probably not, I'd rather spend my money on a...
I agree with you Ben. For the price tag I can go out and get a Diesel crew cab equipped how I want. Tows more and can haul the toy I build for half the price of the Raptor. Of couarse Ford powered.
In my Peterson's 4 Wheel Drive this month they have an article on the Raptor. I tried to find a link for you guys but couldn't.To quote the article "the 6.2L that is in the production version of the Raptor is virtually identical to the Raptor R race engine." "While the race version nets about...
