Wanting to know if anyone can tell me why my truck pops in 4 wheel drive? Its a 77 3/4 and i put it in 4 high and about every 100 yards or so it pops and kinda jurks the truck a little. The 4 wheel drive is working but dont know where to start with this.
I had a 82 that did the same exact thing...
Just wanted to shoot a couple pics of my truck.
We found the problem with the lights. Its the blinker column switch. The contacts are dirty. I had no Idea the brake interupt is there. After taking the wheel off We could move the switch and get lights. Tomorrow I will get some contact cleaner and...
I can try to get some pics of my flatbed to give you a better Idea.Write up,http://www.ehow.com/how_4760715_build-flat-bed-pickup-truck.htmlA good write up...http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/bed/flatbed_build/index.htmlAnd another one...
Just to mention, Yes it is a flatbed so it does not have factory lights. The body (77' 1/2 ton that is in excellent condition) was placed on a 76' 3/4 ton running gear. I dont normally agree with "hacking" up a classic but my hat is off for the person who put it together. The truck is in great...
Its strange. There is no ground wire to each light housing. There is two wires to each lamp and my guess is the ground is where the body of the light is touching metal. Im going to try screwing a wire into the body and onto the frame.
Thats what Im thinking is its original wiring up to the split at the rear. That would be exposed to the elements more. I hope I can find the problem, I just hate wires. Cant I just wave my arm out the window?
Ok, so, where is it grounded? There is two wires to each light and I dont think one is a ground. Wouldnt the light be grounded by the frame or is the another place a wire will go to be grounded?
Hey, can someone help me undrstand tail lighting. The right rear light blinks but is very dull and no park or brake. The bulb is fine. All other lights work.
Im not understanding how to fix it. There are two wires to the light. But it has 3 functions, right. I can start stripping tape to find a...
Its done being painted. I had a couple runs, sanded it and threw another coat on. It will need a good buffing as my garage is not suited for dust circulation. Over all, I like it. Now on to getting all the equipment mounted.
I thought I had mentioned, someone has put the cab (I believe a 77 cab) f150 on a f250 frame and running gear. Not sure of the details on the running gear yet.
Is there obvious diferences between the 460 and 429? By looking at it? Of course they are different. Hehehe.
Just to add, Sanding the truck, looks like the original paint or at least consistant to all body parts looking original. ie, same primer color. I have a hard time thinking its a conglomeration. The parts are too consistant. Where I took off the f150 custom emblem, are original holes on the cowl...
Wow. Eithor way the truck is in great shape. I am a big fan of black vehicles. The interior is black and grey, so that works. Also I mixed red flake with the black for a nice look in the sun. I just love these trucks. This is believe it or not my third one. But its been a while.
I picked it up...
Hello all. I just purchased this truck. $2300. I am going to turn it into a welding rig. It is currently in the garage and I am about to paint it black.
It has the 460 and I havent looked hard enough to see what the tranny is. 4 speed standard.Something kinda strange. The oil filter for a 460...
