    Tranny Problem

If you intend on driving that thing on the road much, get an NP 205 part time case in there.

Trying to mount Boss V Plow to Highboy

Thanks for all the great replies.Yes, Highboy measurement is 34" wide, whereas newer trucks are near 40.I spoke to a Boss retailer today who stated no problem to use the 80-91 RT3 mount, with minor modifications. Pushbeam shortened. They offer to install the unit for only a couple hundred...

Trying to mount Boss V Plow to Highboy

The closest thing I can get for a mount is an 81-91 RT3 mount, to try and adapt for my Highboy.http://service.bossplow.com/Documents/msc04017.pdfDoes anyone have data on the various front frame dimensions between Highboys, and the later 4x4 ford trucks? Thanks

351M with frozen distributor, among other things

Ok, the other day I got the dizzy freed up. PB Blaster and 10" channel locks got'r done.So far it doesn't seem to be leaking oil up around the seal, which I half expect it to eventually.I have put the timing much closer to the 14* advance this thing wanted out of the factory with it's...

    Getting Ready for Winter Storage

what percentage of ethanol? I've been researching running 80 90% pure ethanol!I'd spray the spring kit inside the drums with fluid film, as well as the caliper slide areas.. I'd keep the tank full, and do what the fellas say, trying to move her a few times.

Alright, What's the smartest route to clean up my emissions gear?

yeah good thought unrulee, might be what i do. I will determine what plate is in the dizzy and rate of advance. It was stuck at 4* BTDC before yesterday, frozen distributor. I finally got it unstuck and gave it the initial timing it wanted. Really woke it up. We'll see if mileage follows. Had...

351M with frozen distributor, among other things

thanks smokey, i'll dive into my shop manual and make sure of the seal type. It's the 1977 set, but I just remembered the 351M was first year '77 in these, so i should have the info.

351M with frozen distributor, among other things

on the list for this:1) PB Blaster overnight soaking and more tapping, fluid film still soaking now 2) Propane torch. Might help. This isn't in the intake manifold, it's the front of the block on this suckerBeyond this, another issue has reared it's head - the rear main seal is leaking. Just...

351M with frozen distributor, among other things

I will try the PB Blaster.. It is available to me locally, while I don't think MMO is, even though it sounds like an excellent product!I like the oil pan removal idea, hope I don't have to go that route!!Thanks for the suggestions!

351M with frozen distributor, among other things

I'm sure my friends in the rust belt might identify with this one:I recently bought a 78 F150 with a 351M. My investigations to this point have determined that I have a fully intact emissions system, non-catalyst, and what appears to be the original carburetor and distributor.I've been...

    getting ready to swap motors

I use the drilled and tapped hole on the front of the cylinder head, and a bellhousing - to - block fastener diagonally opposite of the right side of the cylinder head point (when looking from the front). Hope that helps.New newer EFI's have that nice lift point hoop, I wonder how much - if...
