240K, Nope, not going to patch job it without a full rebuild. Just don't have the funds at this time.
Rest of the truck is included with the fenders & doors my friend.:)
We are torn about R&Ring it or posting it up on CL..This has been a great truck, but due to the economy and the kids outgrowing the back seat, we are at the crossroad. '97 F150XL, 4wd, 5-speed manual. The 4.6 blew a head gasket, and has been sitting on a stand in the shop for the last 2 years.
How easy is the air flow supposed to be when blowing compressed air through the condenser? All other components flushed fine, but the condenser seems to be a little constricted, is this normal?Just replaced with a new compressor, orifice, accumulator, fan clutch and hoses (old orifice looked...
Could be it, the tank level doesn't seem to make any difference though and there is no problem with start up it dies while traveling down the highway.
What would be the odds of them still running winter blend out here?
Update, a year later....Replaced the fuel pump and no problem all winter. Doing it again, but seems to be altitude related starts crapping out a 4000', will restart after about 30 seconds. Replaced the mass airflow sensor, no dice..
What next?
Thanks, leaning dealer so far (as we have a account with them), and if need be will give me time to pull parts off the core before returning it. Also, because they go off the vin# I'm thinking less headaches if I end up with a block non-specific (the whole Romeo vs Windsor vs 6 or 8 bolt...
Anybody??The other quote is from an aftermarket builder, basic longblock, no sheet metal, but with a gasket set. 3 year 100k mile warranty, $450 core for $2100. They claim they have the same builder as the dealerships..
What do they come with (generally), sheet metal, gaskets, accesories??Also, what kind of warrenty does Ford give?I was quoted 2700~exchange and would have to be built & shipped from Okla.
I'm going to check the master before I replace it.Check this out, pg.2 "low or dropping pedal on abs system"http://www.mightyautoparts.com/pdf/articles/tt82.pdfSure sounds like it, where can I find this valve?
Master cylinder?
Drums were warped to a point it took a total of 8 hours on a lathe to bring 'em back to round. They are at max, (new drums next time).
Adjusted the shoes, bled the system again, test run, no more pulsating brake pedal..Pedal still feels firm, them slowly bleeds away another...
Got alot of pedal travel, going to get the drums turned today so I can adjust the shoes (drums have a little warpage going on).
The sensor on this dude is on the top of the rear differential (unless there is more than one...).
Does anyone know if the speed sensor can do this although the cruise control still works?:headbang: I wish I had a diagnostic computer..This is on the '90 dually.
Got it, bad switch, takes 3.25 cans of 134a. Blasting cold air now....
(I just realized I posted this in the wrong section, lol). Thanks for the reply, Bob!
Ok, I got it to take 3-12oz. cans of 134 (presure 38/low, 270/high).Starting to blow cold, does anyone know how much this system holds?
'90 F350 CC, 460, auto.Either I don't have enough in the system, or I have a bad low pressure switch. Works fine with the jumper wire, but doesn't even short...
Thanks, It may have, there was alot of crap that I blew out with the air hose (no metalic stuff though). Thinking I might have a compressor issue now, the low side keeps wanting to go over 30, and the high side pressure is running low (under 150).
With the compressor out of the truck, spinning...
Ok, I got the ORIFICE out, which required a drill. Didn't harm the tube housing though. Total system flush, new dryer/orifice, O-rings, and 8 oz. of ester oil. The compressor seems to be in good shape, so the next step is to evac and charge w/134a. Wish me luck..
This is on the '90 dually...
This thing has sat along time without any attention to the a/c system. I bought a retro kit to convert the R12 over to 134a which included the 134a compatable oil and the fittings for the schrader valves.
I evac'd the system, send the oil in, and charged it up. Long...
