I put the carburetor back on the truck and i get it to start but it will not stay running on its own. It will only stay running if i'm pumping the gas. Any ideas??
Hi AllHope everyone had a great Christmas!!During the Christmas break i decided to do a rebuild on my carb. The rebuild is complete and all i lack is to put it back on the truck. From there i'll see how good i am at making the final adjustments to make it run well. Here is my problem...
It runs really sh!tty until it warms up. At that point it has plenty of power, but it doesn't idle very well either. It appears to be a motorcraft 2bl 2100 series. Definetly stock.
just a small amount on the cap and around the whole into the valve cover. not to long ago i got a can of cleaner to clean it but i haven't checked any of the actual components.
HELP PLEASEI was checking all the fluids and wires today because my truck has been running very rough. I notice a gas smell on my oil dipstick as well as the oil seems to be very runny. Also, when i pull the cap off to fill the oil there is some white foam/gel around it. I believe that is...
If I have an area i sand down to the bare metal, should i use something better than the cans of primer, or do the cans of primer work well? I notice that the original paint job has a couple different layers (it appears) before you get to the bare metal. They must use something really thick as...
So, on the door say i have 10 paint chips and thats it. I need to sand each paint chip down to the metal, then use a filler. Then sand down the entire door and prime it? Should i use any particular filler for these small chips? I'm going to sand down the entire truck and try and do all body...
I have paint chips all over the truck. I have very little rust or dents, so i'm trying to find the easiest way to repair the little paint chips vs sanding it all the way down. If i sand down a paint chips then you can feel the unevenness. In order for me not to feel that i would have to sand...
Hi AllI'm trying to sand and prime my pickup. The majority of the truck is in great shape except for paint chips. What is the easiest way to repair the paint chips and smooth out the area before i prime the truck in preparation for painting it?Any certain products anyone prefers over...
Thanks AlvinIt is a 2.75 and i've recently had the engine and transmission rebuilt. I would hate to spend money on a larger motor. I'm trying to figure out the best option to give me more pulling power. Everything on the truck is stock nothing special. I'm also worried about how much my...
So do i need to tell the guy at the salvage yard about those numbers before i pick up this rear end? I dont know exactly what those numbers you provided tell me.3.50 rear end for 100$...should i go with it?
I just dropped underneath the truck and there was a small identification tag held on by one of the bolts. It reads ( I Believe)
First Line DM-8J 7KD
Second Line 75 9 378B
Does this tell you anything?
Is it easier to by a rear end with these gears from a salvage yard, or just order the gears new and replace them myself. What is the difference in cost?
I would like to change the gears i have currently. Right now i have a 2.75 rear end and i didn't think i was going to pull my boat out of the water last weekend. If i still want to maintain a good 70mph on the highway and yet pull the boat out of the water what should i go to? I have a C6 with...
I'm going to go out and purchase a new carb and intake. I have a rebuilt 351m nothing special. I've been told to go out and get nothing less than 600cfm carb. I looked at holley carbs and found Part Number: 0-80452. Does anyone know anything about this carb? Also, if this is a good carb to...
The paint on it now is in fairly good condition. I started the other day stripping it all the way down on a door and fendor. I spoke to a few people and they mentioned it probably isn't necessary to strip it. When i did strip those two i went to Oriellys and purchased a couple cans of primer...
Hi AllI'm looking to sand down my truck, make repairs, and prime it myself. Any suggestions on the step i should take to do so. Any tricks someone has learned to speed the process up for me? What is the best sand paper, sander, bondo, primer, etc..Thanks
I'm sure you guys will regret i ever came on board. I've asked a trillion questions already and i'm sure you're getting tired of me asking. I'm trying to redo everything on this truck and i have very little knowledge.I'm not sure what kind of carb i have but i do know it is a 2bbl. It does...
