Now, I'm just curious. What are the chances that my 73, f100 explorer, long bed, with a 360 ci; is a limited slip rear end? I'll get the number off the door tomorrow.
Oh boy. Then perhaps I'll pull the modulator and take it in and try to match it up. I think different ford vehicles' transmissions had them in 73. I could also try to find out what tran I have on my hands.
OK I found the modular vacuum valve. Very accessible. I checked the vacuum hose and it was full of liquid. So valve appears shot. The hose was old and weak also,so I'll change that too. There is a type of round ledge around the valve that has another hose coming from it. It runs parallel...
Thanks for the heads up. could you tell me how I can change it? Is there a diagram and or instructions here on the site? I'd love to do it myself if it's not too hard. After the heater core I feel I can do anything on this truck.
Hi folks. I've only had the truck two weeks and I spent most of that time just getting it ready to use as a daily driver. (new heater core, welding floor boards, etc) Yesterday I took it on a long drive and it performed excellently- better then expected. But there was one thing that...
Vacuum valve? I only have two hoses one in and one out. Do I need a vacuum valve?
So the ball valve will be set up in line and before the water goes into the core. It then reroutes it back towards the water pump?
Good to know. The truck looks pretty good right now. Not too much I really need. I might save for the plastic/rubber looking cab floor cover. I'll go see what Dennis has to offer too.
