  1. Transmission Fluid Change

Like blacksnapon said in post #2......don't be tempted to substitute. I have heard of too many transmissions having issues because something else was better. The current Ford fluid for the 5R110 is the Mercon LV fluid. It supercedes the Mercon SP and is NOT suppose to be mixed...
  2. what axle do i have?

Agree with polarbear. Check the tag on the rear....usually a metal tag held by one of the rear cover bolts. It will give you specifics. If you don't have that then google.....I distinctly remember a link somewhere that gives a pic of each rear so you can identify by the bolt pattern. If you...
  3. Rebuilding a 6.0

LOL....Brian found me! Can't hide anywhere. Thanks for the replies everyone. I did find out that it really is not necessary to rebalance the rotating assembly, but not a bad idea either. I also found out that the rear covers may be different and that I may need to swap when I pull the motor...
  4. Rebuilding a 6.0

    Any input from anybody?
  5. Hello Virginia

New to the board....thought I would check in.
  6. Rebuilding a 6.0

I have a spare 2004 motor that I am in the process of tearing down. The previous owner pulled it at 115k miles suspecting headgaskets and let it sit for about a year replacing it with a cummins. I want to rebuild and freshen up a few parts/pieces. Question I have is that it was in a manual...
  7. Hello!

As far as the new motor....the bottom end will stay factory stock as much as possible. Top end will have a set of massaged heads, 175cc injectors, Powermax turbo, custom intake manifold, remote oil filter, custom fuel system, etc. All hoses, sensors and the like will be new. Pretty much...
  8. Hello!

LOL! Yep...I was a bit numb for a few days. Insurance covered everything...so I did alright. Since I took all of the factory parts off of the car I had enough parts in the garage to build a whole separate car.
  9. Hello!

Thanks....I learned a lot from a lot of other smarter folks too. Did a lot of research and homework to build it the way I thought it should be. Ask away....be glad to fill you in on anything you want to know.I had a couple of sets of wheels....show and track. I ran 18" wheels for the most...
  10. Hello!

Sadly....almost unbelievably....I didn't get rid of it. It got taken from me in a garage fire. It happened shortly after I got it together. Never got it to the track.Plans for the truck? As in racing or puller? No.....just something to play with right now. Learning a lot about...
  11. Hello!

Another with the IRS in the car.....And the last pic in the original set was the rear with the Baer brakes installed....4 piston...14" rotors. Very nice....spec'd to throw your eyeballs on the dash when needed. There was nothing on the car I didn't modify.
  12. Hello!

Kept the IRS of course! Actually, I set aside the complete factory drivetrain and built another separate engine, transmission and IRS rear to the specs I wanted. The motor was in the 650-700rwhp range....transmission was Viper spec with beefed up internals. The IRS got a serious makeover to...
  13. Hello!

A few requested pics of the Terminator.....
  14. Hello!

LOL....yep....a lot of gauges. I think I am done with any more. The ISSPRO Performax is a nice system because you can have up to 17 gauges linked to the controller. You should know how informative the factory gauges are ( not ). Especially for the 6.0 diesel! I don't even bother looking at...
