  1. Power Steering Cooler

In asking the original question, I was trying to come up with a reason for PS "coolers", of one sort or another, to be installed on some trucks/pumps and not on others. I wish my '68 didn't have one sticking up, in the way, asking to be bumped, bent, etc. But, I live in a hot, humid area and...
  2. Three Groove Fan / Water Pump Pulley?

Thanks Bill (BKW) - I am honored that you responded to my post.I only wish I knew a fraction of what you know about Ford parts and had access to the data that you use and understood how to use it adequately! When I look at a parts book, I tend to go into mumble mode even though I am getting...
  3. Power Steering Cooler

Yep, just like fins on a heat sink. But, why is a cooler (finned or zig-zag) used on some pumps/models and not others?I know of a '68 with the finned cooler, a '69 with no cooler and a '73 with the zig-zag. All have PS and 360 engines.
  4. Power Steering Cooler

I was thinking that, maybe, some pumps / PS systems were just more efficient. And, as a result, generated less heat. Not be well schooled in hydraulics, I am just guessing. I saw a fairly plain-Jane '73 today with the zig-zag tubing for a cooler. At least, that's what I think it does. No...
  5. Three Groove Fan / Water Pump Pulley?

Guys - Got a free ride to Montgomery today (about 80 miles) and made a deal to be dropped off at the Pull-A-Part there. I was running out of time when I saw a brown '73 F100. Turns out it had been there longer than any other '67 and later truck listed. As I walked up to it, I could see it was...
  6. Power Steering Cooler

My 68 F100 with a 360 has power steering. There is a small, finned "radiator" associated with the power steering pump.I have 69 parts truck with a different pump and no cooler.I know Ford used a zig-zag pattern of metal PS line on later trucks. I assume this is to dissipate heat from the...
  7. Dentside Ford parts you wish were being reproduced

How about evaporator coils for the 73 to 75 trucks with factory air?Hen's teeth . . .
  8. 3D printing

I've seen some 3D printers for $2,000 to $3,000 but I haven't really looked very hard.If these things are like most such items, the price WILL come down - A lot.The cool thing about them is the input files can be shared. So, if Joe comes up with an interesting part, product, etc, he can send...

Maybe he can charge admission like Pull-A-Part?He needs a sign and marketing campaign!
  10. Old Seat and Shoulder Belts

Climbing belts, like those used by utility workers, have expiration dates. I suspect seat belts SHOULD have them.Of course, a failed climbing belt can get you killed rather quickly. A failed seat belt is harmless until . . .You make a good point. I think I'm in the market for some new belts!

Have you prepared the property owner for the onslaught?
  12. Three Groove Fan / Water Pump Pulley?

Thanks Holtz.I tried sending you an email and PM but my post count is too low for that. Thanks for checking on the pulley and posting the photos. The "browner" of the 2 pulleys seems to be the best fit. I think it is the one on top in the last photo and the one with the larger diameter...
  13. Three Groove Fan / Water Pump Pulley?

To clarify - It is the fan or water pump pulley I need. Not the crank pulley. The generic part number is 8509.The pulley is about 6.5 inches in diameter, about 2.5 inches deep and mounts with 4 bolts. The "wall" between the rear groove and the middle groove is thicker than the other 3 "walls"...
  14. Three Groove Fan / Water Pump Pulley?

Thanks for the Mustangtek site. Good info there.Maybe the C7OE-8509-B / C7AZ-8509-E shown there would work. The diameter is a bit smaller based on the photo but no info on the depth. The groove "wall" thicknesses seem to match. The "wall" between the rear and middle grooves is thicker than the...
  15. Three Groove Fan / Water Pump Pulley?

OK, this is my first post and I am looking for a little help. But, rest assured that I'll return the favor.I'm looking for a pulley with 3 grooves (sheaves) like the one used on my '73 F100 with a 360 engine. I can't seem to find a part number stamped on that pulley. This pulley might have...
