We use a local bodyshop that is quite good. As far as I know, all insurance companies approve of them.

estimate by a probably incompetant guy working for an insurance company..

6K......

a knowledgable Ford Paint and body guy. well above 10k..

It's part of my DNA, I have to have a confidence that it will be right to be comfortable with who does the work on my vehicles. There's a lot of Ford dealerships between here and Waynesville, MO where Vince works, but I gladly travel that 120 miles just to satisfy my concern that it's going to be fixed right.

The body shop at Suntrup has done work for me in the past. I'm on a first name basis with the manager. He shows appreciation for my business with him in the back of the same building that I have done business with in the showroom up front. When I visit, Bill takes me into the shop and walk me through to show me the what, how, and why they are doing things, and I appreciate that. They will be fixing my truck.

I have a friend that has progressive insurance and thinks it's the greatest insurance there is. His home, all his cars are with him. He has a wood stove in a house built in the 1920's and one side has settled so far down there is no way to raise it up cheaply and he heats with a wood stove with the stove sitting at a angle because of it. I wonder how he will explain that if his house catches fire.

The kid that hit us earlier last year had Progressive Insurance. Honestly, it was the easiest, most painless process I've ever encountered. Dropped the car off at their Service Center, picked up the rental, came back a week later to a fixed car. Easy, car was done right- I was impressed.

Maybe you can ask your contact which shop on the list he would recommend?

It's always harder to deal with another drivers insurance when it's their fault. It really sucks. I ended up calling my own insurance company to help me deal with the original drivers insurance company because it was the only way to negotiate. I do wish you luck Brad. It's a pain most of the time, but it's your RIGHT as the owner to get it repaired by who YOU choose.

I agree^^^^ To me that's the only way to do it because the other driver's company will try to screw you in some way....

Mark's right, you should sue her for saving her life.

sorry about your truck buddy, but at least we were able to plow snow together last Sunday. BTW it took Chris and the milling gypsies over an hour to hook the tractor backup to the trailer. lol

Someday soon the Bronco will see new paint of some sort...

Go with the stock scheme and colors, drop 3k at a good paint shop and call it good. You'll have paint that looks good for the next 20 years.

Well here is the deal, my paint is good on the majority of the truck but the hood is peeling pretty badly. There is a guy who works where I work who is a wizard at paint work who does it crazy cheap (Minus prep I think), if I go through him I think I will get it all painted up in BRight Regatta Blue Met. (Current Blue) and a true white like Oxford White so the white will matches the top. If he can't do it for whatever reason I will just have the hood painted at Suntrup Ford or another local body place that has been recommend to me. If the quotes are close enough and Brad's truck turns up well I think I'll bhe going with Suntrup if I'm going the hood only route.

Or take your rig apart, buy a new DD, look at your rig in pieces for a couple of months, finally get around to paiting it yourself, sell one of the two vehicles, buy a dentside. smilieFordlogo
