Need Advice

Need some advice on a couple of trucks. I'm looking at an 04 f250 7.3 Powerstroke 4x4 automatic for 8k. But there is also a 05 GMC Duramax automatic 4x4, dually. The GMC is 4k more but which is the better motor? Both have over 200k miles, look good. The Ford has a few rust spots but I dont really care about the looks. Help

I thought 2003 was the start of the 6.0?

In any case, the 7.3 was a good engine as I recall. I had 4 or 5 of them and had minimal issues.

You are correct. there were 03's that were left over 7.3's
He could have a truck with a build date of 03, titled as a 04
Look on the door jamb at the sticker.

yup.. 03 was the last of the 7.3's was also when you could start special ordering the 6.0 in 03 as well.. few were sold in 03 but the majority were 04s.. my 6.0 has a build date of july of 03 but is titled as an 04...

this would be a first for me hearing of a 7.3 in an 04 except for the few i know of where people did an engine swap on them...

Some cab and chassis could be 03 titled 04
May take up to a year for the body to get on the truck
