I know we have some truckers here and other smart guys...'splain this to me please.
When I bought the Bird, I weighed it quickly on the way home with about 3/4 fuel and half water.
All USA numbers btw to make things easier
I can't recall the exact numbers, but they were around:
front 14300
drive 16700
tag 11000.
Struck me as a little odd....figured the front should be lighter, drive heavier and tag lighter.
Fast forward to now.
Axles and GVW actually add up on this unit .
GAWR
Front 14400
Drive 23000
Tag 10000
GVWR 47400.
An adjustable regulator was installed for the tag bags.
It was factory set at 60 psi.
We set it at 50 psi when I left the shop.
Fuel is now full, as is propane and water...so yes, I will be adding more of my stuff....but this was a way to start.
The front weights following are with my fat ass in the seat....so 230# of variation.
50 psi
front 14146
drive 18062
tag 12232
total 44440
40 psi
front 13772
drive 20548
tag 9900
total 44220
34 psi
front 13486
drive 21472
tag 8866
total 43824
Now I get that the totals are going to vary a little as the bags could be loaded up etc.
But what really threw me for a loop was when I put both rear axles on the scale and got
29106...seems low.
So adding up the front at 13486 gives me a total weight of 42600.
So now the numbers are out for totals of almost 1800#
Thoughts?
Am I missing something obvious?
