underhood light question

good day i managed to buy a ford underhood light with the pull out cord would any one have an idea of the correct placement as i dont see any "factory holes"and have never seen one installed myself thanks regurds joe

They go on the cross bracing.
Pull cord ?
All the ones I have seen are a mercury switch
That one looks like it is from a Lincoln

I think he means it has the pull out light on a recoil.
 
My 78's got an underhood light (it doesn't work, but it is there). ...it's nothing like that one though. The bulb is actually fixed to the hood. Perhaps mine's a jerry-rig job, but it appears to plug into a proper connector near the firewall

Yours looks pretty neat though. You should find some way to get that going.

My 79 has a factory one, but the wifes on vacation with the camera. I can post a pic next week.
 
Mr Mouse has a different switch, that came on Lincolns.
