A bit before my time, but I remember reading about them through the years. Heck of a build. Back when the factory knew that what was on the track correlated to their image even if those particular cars couldn't be bought for the street.
Now that's a classic, the old Fairlanes, Ford certainly knew how to build good cars in the day, not to mention their F-Series, W-Series, and Louisvillle Line of trucks. I have seen one of those 64 427 Fairlane Thunderbolts at a local car show and it was awesome, A factory built drag car. Sweet but powerful,that car definitely lives up to the Thunderbolt name, for it sounded like thunder rumbling. They should go back to building cars and trucks like Thor again
