Hey folks -
Looking for ideas (hopefully the easiest) my sons truck is new to us and figuring out the this and that's for it - 79 F150 with 351, the fuel gauge is not accurate.
I did the math off the dimensions and seems to be about 17 gallon tank, it was reading less than a 1/4 tank; go to the gas station and it will only hold about 6 gallons - gauge will read full when you leave but through the week will give higher and lower readings depending on the day ending with the above scenario.
I am curious - there is often pressure released when you take the gas cap off, it is an old style cap - could this be as simple as a venting issue and needing a vented gas cap??????
Thanks for your ideas.
