1985 F150 2WD SWB 2 tanks. Rear tank will not fill. Not sure if it is venting right or what's going on. New 19 gallon tank, new filler hose and new vent. Any suggestions?
there is a small hose on the inside of the big hose that hooks to the end of the metal fill part. this goes into the tank. when you fill the tank, the gas goes inside the small hose, and the air being displaced by the gas going in, goes on the outside of the small hose. some states this air is recovered by the stations recycle system. if this hose is not connected, you are trying to put gas in with the air rushing out, which causes the safety in the nozel to click off the flow to keep from spilling fuel
