New Clutch?
It's getting rather close for a new Clutch in my 250, so I was wondering.
What's a good clutch to go with, stay with the OEM or something aftermarket?

I always go either OEM or a center force.

Hmm 400 bucks or 1600 bucks... I think i'll stick with OE...

Yeah that's why I go OEM on a stock engine.

I have been having good results with LuK clutches.

Is factory a dual-mass flywheel?

May be worth some research on the subject before's been too many years to recall details, but I'm pretty sure a friend ended up a lot happier swapping to a single-mass flywheel in his early Powerstroke.

That's what the wife just put in her Wrangler. It seems to be working fine. Smooth shifts and no chatter.

I have done only one dual to single conversion, and the owners were quite tickled with the results. When I replaced the clutch in my 86 diesel, the old one was a Valeo, stiff as hell. The LuK softened the pedal but has not been any worse for grab. Put a LuK in the 88 351W and has been great for the abuse there as well.

You know, I dunno. I need to look in to this.

Simple solution...get rid of the gheyass manual and swap a real transmission in :p
