Under Hood Air compressor

I'd like to find an adequate air compressor I can install underhood that will be somewhat durable. I don't want a cheezy slastic tire-filler; I want something that I can plumb into a small tank for air-ride seats and occasional blowgun use, plus maybe power a set of train horns..lol..
Any ideas? Is there one that mounts to a 7.3 used in buses for air brakes or such?

great! will do... is this a self-regulated system, or does it use an equalizer valve like a big truck?

Theres a regulator that goes by the height sensors at the wheels. You'll have to manufacture something to take the place of the sensors.

MrFixit,

I have an onboard air system on my truck. It powers my stuttertone air horns, my air springs and provides air for my impact wrench and other pneumatic tools.

I had to have the mount custom fabricated, but everything else was plug and play. I love it. If there is anything I do to help, let me know.

Thanks. I also use a LOT of air on my freightliner, but I thought it was ODD that international didn't make one for THIS motor.

York compressor? Isn't that an automotive A/C comproessor? I think I have heard of that sort of conversion before.

I don't know bowtie, it only puts out 150 CFM at 175 psi. I don't know about Tom, but I want to fill a flat tire in less than 1 second!! Not 1.5 secs.

Yes, I do use a convection oven. It's the best for baking.
