Got a quick question. In our boat the guy before us had a 2400 watt stereo system installed. Well it had three batteries under the seat. Well my dad doesnt want all that boom boom crap, so today we tore most of it out. Some rock has some good base so he wants to keep on subwoofer. Well in the manual that came with the boat says that the boat should have one battery itself to run and use the trim pump.

So we are only going to use two batteries and i want to make sure that this will work. Any Ideas?

smilieIagree smiliewhathesaid While I agree you should run an isolator, you need a marine rated one. They can be found cheaper if you google MARINE Battery Isolator, but I get discounts at West Marine and know the store, so here's a link to a very good quality marine rated isolator:

Also, you can get a switch that allows you to switch between batteries or run on both like the one here:

If you go the switched route, DO NOT switch while the engine is running! You can blow the alternator if you do. That comes from experience. :) Our ParaSail operates using the switch. We run on one battery during one flight, then switch to the other when we get back to the dock. This keeps both batteries active and charged and helps us to know when one is going out. The USCG requires ours to operate via the switch option as it keeps one battery good at all times.

OK thanks you guys. I ran those by my dad and he said yea. So il keep an eye out for one.
