i have a 92 f-150 4.9 liter . i recently did a code scan came up with spout failuer \ford dealer said could be plugs n wires, but all new + new fuel filter .was a chevy driver problem sounds like timmin due to rough idle n ride.the prob started after running bad gas,need some help
Key off.
Unhook Battery
Unplug processor, check pins and leave disconnected.
Disconnect TFI module.
Measure resistance between Pin 36 at the processor pin and SPOUT circuit at the TFI module vehicle harness connector.
Is resistance less than 5.0 ohms?
NO
SERVICE open circuit. RECONNECT all components. CHECK timing.
YES
Key off.
Breakout box installed.
Connect processor to breakout box.
Reconnect TFI module.
Timing switch to "DIST" position on breakout box.
DVOM on 20 volt AC scale.
Start engine.
Measure voltage between Test Pin 36 at the breakout box and battery negative post.
Is AC voltage between 3.0 and 10.0 volts?
NO
REPLACE processor.
YES
EEC system OK. REMOVE breakout box. RECONNECT processors.
Do a Ignition System Diagnosis.
