ok, the other day on my way to work, the timing chain (I think it might have been the chain on the balance shaft) broke. It sputtered out like it ran out of gas and wouldn't start. I didn't hear any bangs, crashes or any other odd sounds. But i don't know, is this an interference engine? I know for had them in the late 80's and GM still uses them. I want to know if the explorer is worth fixing or if the engine self destructed when the chain broke. Thanks guys
