This VIDEO shows just ONE difference! The Ford Frame versus the Tundra.

Speaking of frames, here's an interesting shot of the rear frame rails you probably won't see at the Toyota Store. Anyone else know something about truck frames and would like to comment?





This is an issue that is slowly surfacing- collapsing seat backs in rear-enders.




Another common theme in Tundra wrecks- the shackles that attach the rear axle don't seem to be doing their job very well




At any rate, it'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

tom, I watched that one on youtube and lots of other demos along with it... just makes me glad I'm not someone who would go out and buy a truck because of a commercial on tv.

yeah ive seen all those videos and im just happy im not stupid enough to buy a Toyota just because other people say so..... and dependability? as far as im concerned the American car manufactures have caught up and if not passed the Japanese car manufactures in quality and dependability.

Like I have been sayin for years to my friends there frames are weak. Do yall remember there little truck back in early/late 90's that was like the ranger. And they made the truck too long and it bent in the middle. I used to see alot of them around me. I hate Toyotas there little girls trucks. There beds are tiny. 6ft or not.

Talkin' bout the T100?


I've never heard of them having frame problems.. Haven't heard much of anything actually.

It was like that but like just standard cab long bed maybe. Ill see if I can find the 1 im talking about.

Now compare those pics to these, taken two days ago. '08 F150 went down a steep embankment in Texas, hit a lower road, launched, and rolled. Driver walked away. Look at how the wheels are bent, but axles still in place. Thing's built stout as hell.

Jeez no kidding, that's one tough truck. Lucky mofo.

A word from the wise though ya'll... I'm as proud as the rest of you Ford lovers, but NOBODYs truck is indestructible. Just because you've got a Built Ford Tough truck doesn't mean you can drive stupid and crash it and live to see another day. My dads '00 Super Duty didn't protect him as well as it could've when he ran it off the side of the road... Killed him instantly.

Thanks brother. Not looking for sympathy, just don't want any of the good guys gettin' hot heads and driving their trucks like they stole 'em (TODD!!) just cuz they're Fords. I know all you guys are smart enough to know that Sorry to bring it up. Accidents always bring me back, you know?

The thing i dont like is the new 09 F150 seems to look more like the tundra now... just not diggin it.. has the Edge front end too

My Mom drives an '01 Tundra. She had a bad experience with a '91 lincoln continental and swears she will never own another ford because of it. Needless to say she has her fair share of problems with her truck. My dad drives around a '67 firebird 40 miles to and from work everyday...i am the only one with a ford =) that wont die. talk about a strange car family eh?
