Okay, you guys got me looking at them. Then the the thread I posted with the '66 powered by the Detroit 4 cylinder also got me thinking.



Whats the biggest little Detroit a person could put in a light duty rig?
 
Well I've seen some crazy stuff done, I saw one guy put an 8V92 into a 1 ton chevy, he had to mount it out back though LOL.

Realistically you could probably do a 6V53, IIRC it weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500lbs. I don't think you want to go too much heavier than that. You can even get 6V53s with DDEC up to 450HP..... Could be a lot of fun YelloThumbUp

Even the 6-71 or the 6V92 would likely be too much for any light duty vehicle. Of course there are alway medium duty rigs... and that open up a whole host of possibilities :beer:
