Backfire under full throttle

2004 F150....truck runs great all of the time but once in a while if Im doing 45 or so and go to pass someone, under full throttle it sounds as if its backfiring and stays at the same rpm..around 4000. If i let off the gas it runs like normal..still under warranty but would like to know what it might be before I bring truck in. Thanks

if its still under warranty take it in... it sounds like a COP is becoming faulty.. but im not real sure.... not real big on the Modular motors.
