My sister has a 97 Explorer. Hasnt ran since october and i finally got around to fixin it. Fuel pump was bad. Anywho

Its AWD and i was pulling it out of the barn and into the icy driveway. Well it slipped a little and clunked up front.. So i did it again and head the throttle open and its a pretty bad knock coming from up front when the wheels are spinning in the ice and snow..

I took it out on the dry paved road and everything seams good.. Havent had a chance to get it in the air and see whats goin on. But anyone have any kind of idea?

Im not sure on the hub style but i guess il figure that out tomorrow...

The awd is handled in the transfer case. Make sure the fluid is good.

What would make the front end knock? Sounds like its comin from the DS.. I was thinking maby a hub? or wheel bearing if you will

You may even have a u-joint bad.
