I dont own any 2wds. Im only thinkin about gettin em cause the tires are so bald and we get so much snow here. Truck also has open diffs so that dont help matters. This is for the 72.

If it's your only option, go for it...it'll be better than nothing. But I'd load up that bed with an azz ton of sand bags too.

Yeah ill put somethin back there to help it. Talked to dad and well see if hes still got em on sunday then offer him 50 bucks and see if he takes it. I still need to see how it does in snow since I couldnt with the last storm cause it all melted off the roads.

what does a californian know about tire chains anyway? ;)

i live in ND where there is snow on the ground more often than not, and have never needed to use them, except on our tractors. Get a set of used tires, from craigslist/online adds/ whatever you have in your area.

why exactly do you hate tire chains?
When my auto hubs decided to leave me stranded in a snowstorm, I bought some cable/chains to get me to my destination and I won't even BEGIN to describe the headache we had with them. Sneak peak-- by the time we got near the house they were coming off every several rotations and wrapping around my axle so I had to walk next to my truck as my brother drove slowly so I could yell "STOP!" and reposition the chain... "okay go!"

Cause hes lazy and he has no muscles. Hahahaha.
Bite me baldy.

Microclimates my friend. Believe it or not, this stuff is about an hour from my moms house, if that:

IMHO, tire chains play havoc on a vehicles chassis components and if they start to come loose, in very short order can beat the snot out of the sheet metal and paint. Do they serve a purpose? Absolutely, I just don't like them.

Who ya callin bald Chris I got a full head of hair. I talked to my dad and he says theyll only hurt stuff when theyre too loose. Weve also looked for used tires and theyre either the same for tread or they want 5 or 600 bucks for em. We got these for 60 bucks with the rims so thats why we bought em.

You are doing it wrong. :D

I am not saying they are ideal, but when used properly, they work fine and stay on.

They were used properly. But the clips kept bending out of shape and coming off.
