A rod out of a Duracrap or Cummapart that tried to race CodySchmoe or Me??

A "Cracked Rod" is actually a Powdered Metal Rod, or PMR. Also called "cracked" because the process that creates them is called "fracturing", creating rod and cap simultaneously.

Very good! The rod and cap are one piece until they are separated along a scored mark. There is a pattern left in the "broken" edges that when re-assembled, keeps the cap from "walking" on the rod.

I had to get up to date on those because of the powerstrokes...

Wow learn something new everyday. I thought all forged rods were broached from 1 piece.

They may be, but the uniqueness lies in the cracking/fracturing that makes an irregular surface that mates securely, rather than cut and machined smoothe.
