I have done a few advanced searches lately and only sometimes does it actually work.

For example, if I go to advanced search - titles only - at least 0 replies - any date - sort by last posting date - show results as threads - leave the search by user name box empty - select search all open forums - then type in 302 in the key word box the search comes back with ZERO results even though I know darn well that there are several threads out there with 302 in the title.

Am I missing something or is there a flaw in the advanced search function?

I think you may have found a glitch. I just tried the same thing.

In all honesty I'm not any kind of programmer and the search function comes installed as-is with the vbulletin software. If I had to make an educated guess the term '302' may be below a character minimum requirement, or perhaps it looks for words and eliminates numbers.

I tried also and couldn't get it to work. Even lowered the required number of characters and still didn't work. It may be a glitch but we'll look around and see if there is a fix.

Tried the same thing with THE - came up with ZERO results.

Tried it again with MEMO - it worked.

Well what I'm deriving (and it's really just an educated guess) is that it omits numbers and common words (and, the, if).

try it with an * on the end. 302*

It should work like that.

I tried short beds and all that came up was "Hahahahaha"

It works if you search the entire post but It doesn't if you search just by title. 351* seems to work both ways. [confused]
