Just curious as to what an '05 will fit in stock form...

I saw that, but mom's new one is rolling 305/40's on 22's and she wants to go back to stock size so I'm trying to figure out if the p/o had to lift it to put the current rolling stock on...

i don't know, but the answer may help your search....

is the front end the same as an 05 f150? i my head, i think the body looks different, but does anyone know if the suspensions, etc are identical?

265/70R17 = 10.43"W x 31.61"D x 99.29" Circum (7.30" Sidewall height)

305/40R22 = 12.01"W x 31.61"D x 99.29" Circum (4.80" Sidewall height)

Other than the width increase of 1.57" the tires are identical in diameter, so have no effect on the speedometer reading etc. The tires on your moms Navigator were just "Plus" sized.

It appears the 265/70R17 were OEM on the Ford Expedition, the Lincoln Navigator came with 255/70R18 OEM

255/70R18 = 10.04"W x 32.06"D x 100.70"Circum (7.03" Sidewall height); Therefore the current tires & wheels on your mom's Navigator are 0.45"D Smaller and 1.41" Smaller in circumference than the OEM tires & wheels, resulting in your mom's speedometer being off 1.42% High.
