Trim strip removal

I recently purchased a 1992 F150/XLT/4X4 to go with my 1992 F250/Custom/4X4. Love both trucks and especially the interior of the XLT cab. What I don't care for is the XLT exterior trim, mainly the plastic trim strips that run along the bottom of the doors and the the bed. It appears that they are mounted with adhesive only, not drilled and screwed.

Any tips on removing those strips without damaging the paint?

Thank you and Happy Motoring.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the info!

Check out your auto parts store. Its like a giant eraser that goes in a drill. That's what I use and it works pretty good

Good suggestions.

For any of the adhesive that may remain behind afterward, try the "goo gone" product. It's very soft on finishes of all kinds, but it's citrus based if I remember correctly. It works great for me on a few painted metal surfaces.

Job done, looks good. Used a vintage, lucite Red Devil scraper and an erasure wheel (great tool).

Thanks for the suggestions!
