Thinking of selling the dents.

No matter which way you look at it, 20+k is a lot of money for an almost 40 year old vehicle. If it's genuine I'm sure the seller won't mind sending a few more pics.

I agree....but it's a rare, pretty, 40 year old vehicle! :wasntme:

Never know until you try. Get him to send you more pictures. Post them up so we can all help make a decision
(Plus we like truck porn)

smilieIagreesmiliewhathesaid :D. If the inside is anything like the outside, that would be a nice truck.

Saw this threa when it was originally posted...haven't had the time to read it or write out the response I want to. But, they're not doing any harm just sitting there. That said, there will always be trucks out there. I think I'd lean more toward a family friendly 73-79, so the nostalgia of 'dear old dad' having one is there. Beyond that...never been a fan of kids/young drivers being handed a ridiculously nice rig.

Thanks Ben....I agree....I was hoping to 1) hopefully raise the boys so it won't be an issue, but if they're normal boys, most likely, it will be an issue and 2) have them start out with a beater like with my POS Cheby or another type they can beat up and learn on.

Ken, you should go ahead and list one for sale. Start a little high and see if anybody bites.
It could take a while to sell a nice truck like yours.

I've been dragging my feet on this one....I need to detail the engine on the 77 with all the chrome in it as it hasn't been done in a few years since we stopped showing it at car shows.....and I know that will take up a good day or weekend......the ad has to be pretty decent also; want to put dozens and dozens of pictures up, a video of the engine starting and walk around, have a dropbox link or something of all the work that's been done during it's restoration, etc........also, I'm getting a little sellers remorse just talking about it.....which maybe, as already suggested, try selling one for now, then maybe the second later....but with a NICE crew dent, I think I'd be ok if I sold both my regular cabs.

Yeah...no doubt they'll be raised to appreciate it. Just meant 1) young drivers make mistakes...would hate to see one of those beauties all twisted up and 2) half the fun of owning one is figuring out what makes it tick...in that shape...not too much to tinker on.

We can't do it!

OK.....WE CAN'T DO IT!

As you know, in the "what did I do do my dent" thread, I took the red dent out with my little boy.......and really that was the day the wifey and I said we're just keeping them both!

If we sold them, we'd have to do it soon (this year for sure) because the little guy is already owning it (although, we realize some day he may not be interested as well as the other reasons already stated)......and selling it, the more he realizes we own it, is going to break our hearts even more, so regardless of what money is available in the two garages, in comparison to where we are in life financially, it's not very significant.

I've been offered $15 for the red one just driving it around town in the past and I could probably get that or more on the market and that number represents (again in the big scheme of things) is what my firm grosses, literally in a matter of a few days+. As I was driving the red dent with my boy, I couldn't imagine having to go look for one similar to it 10-12 years from now when I could just let this hunk of metal sit in our garage and use it periodically in the summer!

I went to look at the black dent (yet to be pulled out and road driven this year) and it's just so beautiful, even as it sits.

WIFE AND I JUST CAN'T DO IT......I do appreciate the comments and advice, but for now, these big hunks of metal will take up a little room on our property and if the boys have no interest down the road, no problem!

With those two dents parked in our garages, I'm not sure the wifey is going to ever approve of me getting a cc dent to use with the whole family, but I can dream....probably not a good idea anyways, unless I got rid of the KR in its place.

I bought my 78 because I had the nostalgia bug bite me good and hard, and it reminded me of my first truck which was a 77 dually stake body, but still an old Dent, and also learning how to drive on that truck. Ah! Memories of the driving lessons on that old 77 dually with my father, Ah those old Dents can bring back such memories, that will always be cherished even with another Dent. I guess it's a guy thing, wanting their first vehicle back.
