Replacing the alternator in my 89

The pull and pay had a 50 percent off sale so I went and got a alternator for my 89,the one plug seemed to be stuck so I cut off the wires leaving about 6 inches of wires so today I tried to get the plug out and its not budging and looks to be built in. The present alternator looks to be the same and when I changed on in a 92 I had years ago it just unplugged so what is going on.

Went to the parts store and found out that is the way that alternator is,back when I had a 92m I remember seeing replacement plugs for the alternator so there must of been a problem. Need to bring home some electrical connectors from work so I can change it.

The older alternators were notorious for melting the side plug. Many upgraded away from that to the next version . commonly from like a Taurus and such. Higher output and no melting of the plug.
